USING THE APP: HOW TO CONSOLIDATE RECEIPTS AND READ THE DASHBOARD
'Welcome to the NumReceipt blog! While NumReceipt offers a variety of features to help you track your spending and simplify your life, today's post focuses on two basic functions: uploading a receipt to the app and then reading the app's dashboard for a straightforward yet comprehensive view of your activity.
Let's start with step-by-step instructions for uploading receipts to the app so you can start throwing away those stacks of paper receipts!
First, from the app's home screen, select 'Scan & Upload.'
Take a photo of your receipt. For a clear image, lay the receipt flat against a contrasting surface.
After capturing the image, select 'Edit' at the bottom of your screen.
Enter the details of your purchase - the retailer, category (groceries, rent, entertainment, etc.), total amount, tax, and payment method - and press 'Save' in the upper right corner of your screen.
Easy, right? Repeat the same process with your other receipts. You can upload screenshots of online or emailed receipts by navigating to 'Manual Receipt' from the home screen, then pressing the paper clip in the upper left-hand corner of your screen. NumReceipt will then offer the option to use a photo from your gallery.
Once you've finished uploading receipts, check out the NumReceipt dashboard! From the home screen, select 'Dashboard.'
The dashboard shows a summary of your expenses over the past six months first, so you can easily obtain a good idea of your average spend even if you've made a large one-time purchase recently. Below that, you can compare your income to your expenses for the current month.
The final graphics on the dashboard display your spending by category, a useful tool when sticking to a budget, and your top transactions by amount spent for the current month.
